(Rocking my short haircut for Tatyana Boutique a few years ago.  Photo by Urszula Stern)

Since starting my Facebook entertainer page, more and more people are reaching out to ask me how I got into hosting.  By looking at my reel—a two-minute cut of hosting jobs over t...

(Filming in front of Sunset-Gower studios as the Nobu Hotel correspondant for LA Fashion Weekend.  Earlier that week I was probably doing something else in a pair of khakis.)

To me, being a “slasher” means living the dream.

But in-between the dream jobs, there ar...

Here’s the thing, entertainers.

Headshots are everything.  Listen!

Headshots.  Are.  Everything.

(Wheeling and dealing at the office.  I rent a community workspace for approximately $2.25 a pop and it comes with coffee.  Jealous?)

Slow months.  Uncertainty.  Last minute, “drive-all-the-way-to-some-studio-and-they-turn-you-away” crap.  Slashing is not for the...

Who is Elly Brown?

Elly Brown is an entertainer

and public speaker living in Las Vegas. In May of 2018, she had a life-altering surgery for oral cancer that completely changed the direction of her career.

Before having a radical neck dissection, she sang with the acappella group, The Sound Collageand worked as an on-camera host and model.  She recently starred in the indie film Alien Domicile, which you can watch on Amazon.com, and appeared in episode 1 of Hidden Vault Films' fan film production of Rise of the Catwoman, for which Elly won a Maverick Movie Award for Best Actress, alongside Lee Meriwether--the original Catwoman--who won for Best Supporting Actress.

In spite of her changed face and voice, Elly is determined to continue following her dreams--and through her Facebook and YouTube videos, inspire thousands of others with physical challenges to do the same. Even in the face of a second diagnosis--breast cancer (the same week she lost her father to pancreatic cancer) she remains determined to make her obstacles her victories.

Elly is continuing to sing, act, and even deliver speeches, using what happened to her as a way to connect to all people who have faced obstacles.
